John Louis Vasquez, a 27-year-old Latino, died Saturday, May 24 after getting into a fight in the 4800 block of West 104th Street in Lennox, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Vasquez was involved in a fight with two other men about 2:40 a.m. when he was knocked to the ground and the other men ran away, said Lt. Eddie Hernandez with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
A four-door, dark-colored sedan traveling west on West 104th Street struck Vasquez, pinning him underneath the car, Hernandez said.
He was pronounced dead at 3:15 a.m., according to coroner’s records.
According to the coroner, Vasquez died from being pinned under the car. Detectives are continuing their investigation into the incident and attempting to determine whether Vasquez was the aggressor in the fight, Hernandez said.
