A story for every victim

Jon Davis, 26

Jon Davis, a 26-year-old black man, died after he was shot multiple times in a liquor store parking lot in the 4600 block of West Adams Boulevard on Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, according to authorities.

Witnesses told police that Davis was standing in the parking lot about 2 p.m. when a light-colored vehicle drove north on West Boulevard and stopped near him, Los Angeles police said.  A passenger in the front seat got out of the vehicle, ran toward Davis, and fired multiple times, police said.

Davis ran into the liquor store, where he collapsed.  The gunman ran back to the waiting vehicle and fled the scene.

Davis died a short time after being taken by paramedics to a hospital, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call South Bureau Homicide Dets. Dave Dilkes or Fred Ibanez at (213) 485-1383.
