Jonathan Cordova, 18

Jonathan Cordova, an 18-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Saturday, Jan. 30, at East 15th Street and Stanley Avenue in Long Beach, authorities said.

Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner's office, said Cordova was standing on a street corner when at least one person approached him, pulled out a gun, and opened fire.

According to a news release from the Long Beach Police Department one other unidentified 18-year-old man was injured in the incident, but his injuries were not life-threatening.

Cordova was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:49 p.m. Police said they the incident could be gang-related.
