Jonathan Marquez-Avila, an 18-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Tuesday, May 15, in the 600 block of Davidson Lane in Pomona, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
According to the Daily Bulletin, officers responded to a call regarding gunshots about 11:15 p.m. and found Marquez shot.
Paramedics were called and the victim was pronounced dead minutes later, officials said.
Coroner's records show Marquez suffered gunshot wounds to the head, torso and both arms.
The attack is believed to be gang-related, said Pomona police Sgt. Duane Leonard. The "attacker approached Marquez on foot before opening fire," Leonard said.
