Jorge Guijarro, 19

Jorge Guijarro, a 19-year-old Latino, was fatally shot Thursday, May 5, near Vanowen Street and Etiwanda Avenue in Reseda, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Witnesses told police that a black Volkswagen Jetta carrying several people drove by Guijarro shortly before 11:30 p.m. and at least one person in the car fired numerous shots toward him, according to an Los Angeles Police Department news release.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found Guijarro shot once in the upper torso. Paramedics were called and he was taken to a hospital where he later died, police said.

Investigators said the alleged shooters were described as Latinos. The shooting appears to be gang-related, they said.
