Jose Fernando Pineda, a 30-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Thursday, July 22, in the 300 block of West 13th Street in San Pedro, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Shortly after 7 p.m., Pineda was walking down the street when he was chased down by a person with a gun, said Los Angeles Police Department Det. Julie Scruggs.
The person shot at Pineda, who lived in the area. Pineda was pronounced dead at a hospital at 12:41 a.m., according to coroner’s records.
