Jose Leon, 45

Jose Leon, a 45-year-old Latino, was fatally stabbed Wednesday, March 27, in the 100 block of South Alvarado Street in Westlake, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

About 8:30 p.m., Leon got into an argument with multiple people outside the lobby of a nearby motel, said Los Angeles police Det. Ray Martinez.

One of the people pulled out a knife and stabbed Leon, then fled in a sedan.

Leon was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:58 p.m., according to coroner's records.

Leon lived in the area. Martinez said the killing is not connected to gangs. It’s unknown why the argument began.
