I believe this might be my friend, and neighbor Jose who I met in the early nineties. He was a great friend. He was a good father, and worked hard for his family. He lived with his wife, and 4 kids. One day he got out of work early at right before noon, and asked me if I wanted to go have a couple beers with him at this little bar. I declined, and told him that we could drink those beers the following day. He left, and he never returned. His wife found him through pictures at MLK hospital on life support a few days later, he had been shot in the head, and died soon after. She told me that the authorities told her that there had been a takeover robbery that had went bad at that little bar, and that there had been numerous people shot, and at least a few had died. I believe she said they shot the security guard, a waitress, Jose, and other patrons. She also told me that they had shot Jose over his wallet that contained about $20. The bar was called El Potro, and it was located in South Park. She told me sometime later on that year, that they had apprehended the people responsible for the murder of Jose, but that every time she went to court some people she had never met before would try to intimidate her, and tell her not to show up to court. She moved from the area, and I never seen her again. I never found out if the people responsible for these murders were ever convicted. If anyone can help me out with any information in regards to this case it will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
