Jose Raul Corrales Aguilar, 69

Jose Raul Corrales Aguilar, a 69-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Tuesday, Oct. 9, in the 1900 block of Canal Avenue in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

At 3:05 p.m., officers from the Long Beach Police Department were called to the area regarding shots fired, according to a news release from the department. Officers arrived and found Corrales Aguilar with gunshot wounds.

Corrales Aguilar was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:16 p.m., according to coroner’s records.

Investigators believe that Corrales Aguilar was outside a home with a group of men when a light-colored sedan approached, police said.

The sedan had three to four people inside, police said.

Another man was also shot and took himself to a hospital.
