A story for every victim

Juan Carlos Luna, 21

Juan Carlos Luna, a 21-year-old Latino, was fatally stabbed Saturday, Sept. 16, in the 1800 block of West Court Street in Westlake, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

About 8 a.m., a pedestrian found Luna unresponsive on the sidewalk, Los Angeles Police Det. Ray Martinez said.

Luna was pronounced dead at 8:07 a.m. at the scene, according to coroner’s records.

It’s unknown why Luna was in the area because he did not live nearby, Martinez said. Police think that he was alone when he was stabbed and that the attack happened between 2 and 8 a.m.

Luna was not a documented gang member and police are continuing to investigate a motive for the stabbing, Martinez said.
