Justin Curiel, a 16-year-old Latino, died on Sunday, Sept. 20, after he was shot in the 13000 block of Carl Street in Pacoima, according to Los Angeles County coroner's officials.
Curiel was sitting in the front yard of a residence with Javier Zamora, a 20-year-old Latino, when someone shot at them, said Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner's office.
The shooting occurred about 5:15 p.m., and both victims were pronounced dead at the scene about 6 p.m.
