Karl Braggs, a 58-year-old Black male, died Thursday, Jan. 16, after being stabbed near the 7600 block of Whitsett Avenue in Florence-Firestone, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner's records.

Growing up on Nadeau st I always saw this man up and down on his bike. He never did harm to anyone, wasn't gang affiliated or nothing, didn't dress like it, talk like it, or walk like it. Just a man always minding his bizz. Always had a tall can of beer with him and his hat backwards. I had a brand new pair of shoes in the trunk of my car that I was about to throw away until a friend of mine was like "hey I think those would fit karl!!" and I was like 'oh you know what yeah! when I see him I'll give them to him!' ... a week later I come to find this out. Saw the news and crime scene and saw how his bike was on that fence... I'm no detective but I can read movements and by seeing his bike on that fence with the front wheel facing North, I can visualize that Someone stopped him on his way down to Florence Ave. Karl might've gotten off his bike and gently placed it on the fence and then maybe words were exchanged leading to his stabbing. The Nadeau st community will miss that guy!
