Kenneth Lee Bly, a 52-year-old black man, was fatally shot Monday, Aug. 6, in the 1300 block of West Florence Avenue in Vermont-Slauson, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Bly was standing outside a liquor store when someone walked up and opened fire. Bly was hit several times.

He was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead, Officer Karen Rayner said.

Police believe the attack may have been drug-related.

Save your fingers from Carpo, most of these guys are simply "Victims of circumstances!" What's normal to most is not normal to them. Most don't know their father and their mother was probably young and uneducated when she gave birth to these guys. So in essence, the "Streets" fathered them. I don't judge them, but I do tend look for the source of their mental state of mind or lack thereof. Was it because of the void created by the Black Panthers dismantling in the 70's, Regannomics of the 80's? who knows. But the truth is, no one in the majority really cares about what goes on these communities. The justice department gives a black murderer less time for killing one of their own than if he or she killed someone of a different ethnicity. The so called good people in these neighborhood share some of blame as well. They could, like me or you could make either relocate or take a stand involving the politicians whom they voted for and the local police. Nothing wouldn't happen overnight, but in time the "G's" would relocate. But I digress, instead of pointing your finger constantly Mr Meck, why not propose a solution perhaps your messages will someday resonate in one of these guys (they read this blog too) and bring about change in his or her ways.
