Kenneth Lynn Peevy, 27

Kenneth Lynn Peevy, a 27-year-old black man, was shot and killed on Friday, July 17, in the 1600 block of West 109th Street in Westmont, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records. 

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies went to the scene after receiving a call about shots fired, according to a department news release. 

When they arrived, they found Peevy in the front yard of a residence, with a gunshot wound in his upper torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:34 a.m., according to coroner’s records. 

Investigators do not have any suspect information, but the shooting appears to be gang related, according to the release.
