Kevin Bell, 25 [Updated]

Kevin Bell, a 25-year-old black man, was fatally shot Monday, April 18, in the 1800 block of Gardenia Avenue in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Police were called regarding shots fired at 11:48 p.m. Sunday, April 17, according to a Long Beach Police Department news release.

When authorities arrived, they found Bell in his car with several gunshot wounds. The Fire Department responded and pronounced him dead.

It was not immediately known whether the shooting was gang-related, authorities said.

Anyone who may have any information about the shooting is asked to call Long Beach Police Department homicide Dets. Mark McGuire or Greg Krabbe at (562) 570-7244. Tipsters who would like to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS (800-222-8477).

Damn B what's the deal.....if you think I have forgotten about you, I would have to say I haven't. Man ever since this happen B after your funeral I moved back to Texas, after saying I wouldnt. To be honest I got sick of the wars and the violence we have to live with everyday in cali smh. Since I been in texas B I've started a family, also haven't been looking behind my back every minute like I did in the city, it's kinda odd but man I feel safe brotha...I wish you were here man I fkn hate life sometime.. also guess what remember we were in the break room and we were talking about having kids in the future and I said when I have a kid some day I will show them different from what I learned, and brotha I did just that...I'm raising my family in texas and it's beautiful bro. Wassup B istill haven't forgot about you or how me and you use to always chop it up about what female we was gone pull when we worked @ CVS. Man those was funny some funny times, I still can't believe you physically gone, and its like right before all this me and you was chopping it up @ work in the break room talking about how I was finna go to the army and you said you was proud that I was thinking of doing that. Damn B when ROlando kalled me I had already moved to Texas but when he kalled he say "KEV I got bad news, I say go ahead dawg tell me, then he say yo boii Kevin bad news man". And then he went on, B I made it to LA juss in time for your funeral, I sat in the back next to Rolando then once they let everybody view your body I got up and left bc it hurted juss to know we not gone be chilling and chopping it up about this realism out here no more. man life can be unfair sometimes I got respect for you folks and I send my regards to your awesome family peace brotha
