Kevin Charles Goodrum Jr., 34

Kevin Charles Goodrum Jr., a 34-year-old black man, died Sunday, Aug. 16, after he was shot in the  2100 block of East 115th Street in Watts, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

On Saturday Aug. 15 about 9:44 p.m., Goodrum was hanging out with others in the parking lot in the Imperial Courts housing development when a man walked up and began shooting at the group, said LAPD Det. Dave Garrido.

The gunman then got into a dark-colored sedan, Garrido said.

Goodrum and a 49-year-old woman were injured. Both were taken to a hospital. Goodrum was pronounced dead at 1:41 a.m. on Aug. 16, according to coroner’s records. The woman was struck by bullet fragments and was treated and released.
