Sipert, of Compton, was shot shortly before 10 p.m., said Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner's office. He was taken to a hospital where died at 9:10 a.m. the next day, Winter said.

Kevin Sipert, 17
Kevin Sipert, a 17-year-old black youth, was shot in the abdomen at Essey Avenue and Laurel Street in Compton on Wednesday, Aug.19, and died the following day, according to Los Angeles County coroner's officials.
