Kirk Torres, a 29-year-old black man, was shot and killed Monday, May 16, near Jefferson and Crenshaw boulevards in Jefferson Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Torres was approached by two people about 10:05 p.m. and shot several times, said Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office. After the shooting, the assailants fled in a car.
Winter said the victim was taken to a hospital where he died at 10:34 p.m.
