Kirk Winter, a 53-year-old white man, was fatally shot Sunday, Feb. 6, in the 900 block of West 1st Street in Pomona, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Authorities responded to a call of a “victim of a shooting” about 2:30 a.m., according to a Pomona Police Department news release.

Paramedics arrived and Winter was taken to a hospital where he died a short time later, police said. According to coroner's records, Winter was shot in the chest, shoulder area and back of his right leg.

Officials have not made any arrests in connection with the case. The motive and identity of the shooter remain unknown.
