Kirsten Marie Hyde, 62

Kirsten Hyde, a 62-year-old white woman, died from asphyxiation Tuesday, June 14, in the 6500 block of Topanga Canyon Boulevard in Chatsworth, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Officers found Hyde dead inside her apartment, the LAPD said. She appeared to have been strangled, police said.

Hyde's boyfriend, David Pearson, walked into a police station and allegedly told officers that he had killed his girlfriend.

Pearson, a 58-year-old white man, is being held in lieu of $1-million bail at the Men's Central Jail downtown. His next court appearance is scheduled for July 26 at the North Valley Superior Court in San Fernando.
