Ladell Edward Rowles, a 50-year-old black man, was shot and killed Wednesday, July 8, in the 10000 block of South Broadway in Broadway-Manchester, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Shortly before 11:30 p.m., Rowles was outside an apartment complex talking to other people when an argument occurred, LAPD Det. Dave Garrido said.
A man pulled out a rifle and shot Rowles, police said.
The gunman then fled in an SUV. Rowles was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:37 p.m., according to coroner’s records.
