Lakeia Brown, a 17-year-old black teenager, died Saturday, Jan. 10, in Pasadena, according to the Los Angeles County coroner.
According to coroner's records, a physician had ignored two court orders to treat Brown, described as a foster child with psychiatric problems. Her death appeared to be related to possible complications from an intravenous line that showed signs of infection.
Her case was listed as a homicide by the coroner.
