JT Lamar Thompson, 25

JT Lamar Thompson, a 25-year-old black man, was shot and killed Thursday, April 27, in the 2900 block of Crenshaw Boulevard in West Adams, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

About 3:55 p.m., Thompson was a passenger in a tan sedan traveling down an alley when a dark SUV approached the sedan head on, Los Angeles Police Det. Nathan Kouri said.

A person got out of the SUV and fired at the sedan, Kouri said.

Thompson was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:03 p.m., according to coroner’s records.

The driver of the car was not injured. The SUV continued south down the alley, then exited onto West 30th Street, police said. Authorities are trying to identify the shooter, whom they describe as a black man in his 40s.
