Latasha Renee Craver, 19

Latasha Craver, a 19-year-old black woman, was shot and killed Wednesday, March 30, in the 1100 block of East 107th Street in Green Meadows, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Craver was shot in a car about 1:40 p.m., said Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office.

She was taken to a hospital in Lynwood where she died less than 40 minutes later. According to coroner's records, she was shot in the back.

Reading this makes my heart ache. Tasha wasnt just a girl off the street. There was more to her. I feel like they need to talk about her. Tell everyone how her smile alone could brighten everyone's day. Or how her big beautiful eyes could draw you in & make you want to get to know her. & how her baby voice would make your heart smile. I will never understand why her life was cut so short. & although I know she's in a better place the selfish side of me still begs for her to be done here with us. If you love someone love them hard. Dont let little things bother you cause you never know when it will be your time to go. La Tasha you will forever be missed & you will never be forgotten! I promise. Latasha is my family member, our little girl, I loved her like I love her mother and other family members. As relatives we cry and ask why. Every thing is not God's plan. The enemy is out to kill, still and destroy. Our only survival is God and His word. We must watch and pray. When you watch and having done all the Word say's then you stand and find out the will of God. Latasha's death is severe chest pains to many hearts. She was a good child. Now she is gone, and her mom and other family members suffer as they wait to see her again. Homicide is not suicide; suicide is not murder - Therefore, justified is needed for Latasha. She was a victim of crime. Her killer, a lethal weapon in the hands of "What is it's (the weapon) purpose?"

The guy they arrested for shooting Tasha in the back was charged with involuntary manslaughter. How do you pull the trigger on a 357 accidentially then tell countless lies to the police on how the incident occured and only get charged with involuntary manslaughter. He denied being the shooter and accused others before confessing. He goes inside his house and changes clothes and hides them and the gun. It was murder. This is a disgrace being committed on Tasha's family. The DA that made this decision is lazy to prosecute this case which would probably go into a trial. Steve Cooley needs to explain how easy it is pulling a trigger on a 357 an then call it an accident to justify involuntary manslaughter? If the DA's office is scared then they should have the State Attorney Kamala Harris's office prosecute this case. Stacy and Lamont lost their child. The family and friends lost a loved one. The DA's office needs to do the job they are suppose to do for Tasha's.
