Lawrence Garcia, a 34-year-old Latino, died Sunday Nov. 13, after being shot in the 6300 block of Newlin Avenue in Whittier, according to Long Beach County coroner’s records.
About 9 a.m., Whittier police responded to several calls about gunshots, Officer John Scoggins said. They found Garcia, who had been shot several times. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:05 a.m., according to coroner’s records.
Detectives believe the shooting occurred about 1.a.m., and they are looking for witnesses.
