Lenard Jackson, a 17-year-old black man, was shot and killed Wednesday, Aug. 25, in the 700 block of East Camelot Way in Green Meadows, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Jackson arrived at California Hospital Medical Center's emergency room about 8:40 p.m. suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso and died a short time later, said Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office.

LAPD criminal gang and homicide Det. Kerri Potter said the circumstances leading up to Jackson's death still remain unknown. However, she said investigators believe the shooting was gang-related based on the shooting's location and other factors.

Authorities do not have a description of the suspected shooter.
