Liya Liu, 32

Liya "Sandy" Liu, a 32-year-old Asian woman, was shot in the garage of her home on Bonita Street in Arcadia about 10:21 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27. According to detectives from the Arcadia Police Department, Liu had arrived home when she was confronted in the garage by her husband, Peter Chang,58.

An argument ensued and Liu was shot multiple times with a handgun, authorities said. She was taken by ambulance to Huntington Memorial Medical Center in Pasadena, where she died the next day at 5:36 a.m. Chang, of Long Beach, was later arrested by Long Beach police and was taken to Arcadia city jail for booking. He is being charged in the homicide, police said.
