Lorenzo Smith, 22 [Updated]

Lorenzo Smith, a 22-year-old black man, was shot and killed Sunday, April 17, in the 1600 block of N. La Brea Avenue in Hollywood, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Smith, of South Los Angeles, was attending a party about 3:10 a.m. when he was shot by an unknown male during a dispute, Los Angeles police Officer Catherine Massey said.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene about half an hour later.

One other person was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening wounds, Massey said. Authorities believe the shooting was gang-related.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call homicide detectives with the Hollywood station at (213) 972-2910. Those wishing to remain anonymous should call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS (800-222-8477).

damn bro we been through it all and some how made it to c over 18 i could remember when i met u and how it was all cool from the jump....some time pass but we then again met bac up and continued to share tht friendship.we did wht we did and really it made us who we r....i speek n the now becuz u touched so many and to this very day u remain n our hearts as well of our thoughts....u and tht cool aid smile wit the gold specs.how do u say good bye to someone tht should never b gone???? damn to sit and think about it brings me really no sense numb to the fact tht my fingerz keep typin hoping these words come together and b heard from where ever i sit and speak 2 u my bro....i miss u Lorenzo when the morning light shin i kno its u puttin them gold specs on and smiling from ear to ear.u r truly missed and 4ever loved bro....GEE

im sorry to hear about lorenzo's death we all have probably been throught this type of situation but when your a gang member and live that lifestyle thats what comes with it,you either end up dead or in jail and everyone knows that and lorenzo's family had no idea of the evil he did im pretty sure he made someones family feel the exact same way as his family is feeling about him right now some things you just have to expect i have had family members get killed and they were also gang members i accepted the fact that it was their time gang members know the job is dangerous when they sign up for it and its not right to broadcast people as if they are horrible people on the news and internet because noone but lorenzo and his killer really knows what happen that night and why it happened.

im a friend of Brittnay the 23 year old the media told you about. they put her out to be so bad & slandered her name horribly. what they didnt tell you was she is a 23 year old Nurse,independent mother of a 3 year old, working hard & trying to survive off welfare,victim of domestic violence. Yes she's Guilty of being at an after hour club knowing she had work the next morning. but she is NOT GUILTY for being accesory to Lorenzo Smith murder. I truly feel for his family I know how life is. Her son truly need her jus as well as Lorenzo needed his mom. Its sad how they trying to drag her under and put her out to be so evil. But i keep my FAITH & i TRUST in GOD with my WHOLE HEART. and the truth shall set her FREE. . what ever happen to being innocent until proven Guilty??
