Lorenzo Smith, 22 [Updated]

Lorenzo Smith, a 22-year-old black man, was shot and killed Sunday, April 17, in the 1600 block of N. La Brea Avenue in Hollywood, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Smith, of South Los Angeles, was attending a party about 3:10 a.m. when he was shot by an unknown male during a dispute, Los Angeles police Officer Catherine Massey said.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene about half an hour later.

One other person was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening wounds, Massey said. Authorities believe the shooting was gang-related.
