Louise Savior, a 31-year-old Latina, died Saturday, Aug. 6, after suffering trauma in the 4000 block of South Main Street in Historic South-Central, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office, said authorities received a 911 call regarding screams coming from a van about 3:45 a.m.
When police arrived, they found a man beating Savior. Paramedics were called and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Coroner's records show she died from blunt-force trauma to the head.
Winter said the assailant was taken into custody; however he did not have the man's name.
