Craig Harvey, chief coroner's investigator, said Rodarte was found shot in an alley north of Alondra Boulevard between Lime Avenue and Frailey Avenue at 9:25 p.m. after neighbors heard gunshots and called police. Rodarte was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:43 p.m.

Lucio Rodarte, a 40-year-old Latino, was shot in the head several times and died on July 27 in East Rancho Dominguez, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office.
