Update: Fifteen people were killed last weekend in Los Angeles. At least 10 of those homicides occurred in areas under the Los Angeles Police Department's jurisdiction:

LAPD Mission Area

Panorama City: Soccoro Lopez, 29, was shot while sitting inside his car at Nordhoff Street and Columbus Avenue at approximately  2:40 a.m. Sunday, June 8.  Kenneth Harris, 44, was arrested by police on suspicion of allegedly shooting Lopez. 

LAPD Foothill Division:

Arleta: A young Latino man was found dead in the 9100 block of Bartee Avenue shortly after midnight Saturday, June 7.

Panorama City: Johnnie Lopez, 26, a Latino man, was fatally shot in the 8400 block of Greenbush Avenue at about 1:40 p.m. Sunday, June 8.

LAPD North Hollywood Division:

North Hollywood: George Veliz, 34, a Latino man, was stabbed to death at Saticoy Street and Morella Avenue at about 11:40 p.m. Saturday, June 7. Edwin Morales, 20, of North Hollywood was arrested on suspicion of murder late Sunday.

LAPD Hollywood Division:

Hollywood: Alexander Aldana, 19, a young Latino man, was fatally shot at a house party at 5629 Fountain Ave. at about 9 p.m. Friday, June 6.

LAPD Northeast Division:

Los Angeles: A 20-year-old white man was shot and killed near Perlita and Veselich avenues near Atwater Village at about 7:45 p.m. Saturday, June 7.

Update: Authorities said Monday, June 9, that the man had been pronounced dead, but was later brought back to life by doctors. His condition was listed as "death imminent". HR will follow up on this incident.

LAPD Newton Division:

South-Central Los Angeles: Luis Hernandez, 33, a Latino man, was shot to death after arguing with another driver at the intersection of 67th and Broadway at about 1:50 a.m. Saturday, June 7.

Los Angeles: Jose Villalobos, 37, a Latino man, was shot following a bar fight near Hill and 24th streets near downtown Los Angeles at about 2 a.m. Sunday, June 8.
