Marcos Perez, 40

Marcos Perez, a 40-year-old Latino, died Monday, June 22 after he was shot in the 4300 block of Lima Street in Central-Alameda, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

On June 21 about 11:30 p.m., Perez was standing on a sidewalk in the area when two vehicles – a small white sedan and a light-colored SUV – pulled up, LAPD Det. Richard Arciniega said.

A person inside the sedan opened fire, striking Perez, who was alone.

Perez was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:17 a.m. on June 22, said Ed Winter, assistant chief of investigations for the coroner’s office.
