Margaret Goldberg, 45

Margaret Goldberg, a 45-year-old white woman, was found dead Wednesday, Feb. 22, in the 1200 block of Agate Street in Redondo Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office, said Goldberg was discovered shot at her home about 9:35 a.m. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

During the investigation, officials learned that Goldberg had gotten into an altercation with her ex-husband when she was shot several times, Winter said.

Later that day, the victim's ex-husband was found dead in Utah from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Russell Scott Goldberg, a 49-year-old white man, was discovered in his vehicle on Interstate 15 by milepost 117 near the town of Beaver, the Utah Highway Patrol said.

Authorities in Utah had been advised by Redondo Beach police that Russell Goldberg might have fled there.

Cpl. Todd Johnson said members of the agency's SWAT team observed the vehicle for about three hours before moving in about 9:45 p.m. Utah time.
