Mario Arellanes, a 37-year-old Latino, died Wednesday, July 11, in the 1400 block of South Grand Avenue in Downtown, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office said, Arellanes was brought into the emergency room at California Hospital Medical Center on July. He had stab wounds to the head.
The victim was placed on a ventilator until death on July 11, Winter said.
Coroner's investigators do not know when Arellanes was attacked.
