Marlon Daron Harvey, 38

Marlon Harvey, a 38-year-old black man, was shot and killed Tuesday, Oct. 26, in the 1300 block of West 95th Street in Westmont, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

South L.A. sheriff's deputies responded to a "gunshot victim down" call about 7:30 p.m., according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department news release.

When authorities arrived, they found Harvey suffering from several gunshot wounds. Paramedics were called and he was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

According to coroner's records, Harvey was shot in the back, neck and chest.

Witnesses to the shooting said a black man walked up to Harvey and shot him with a handgun and then ran west on 95th Street, across Normandie Avenue, officials said.
