Martin Kennedy Jr., 18

Martin Kennedy Jr., an 18-year-old Latino, was fatally stabbed Saturday, Sept. 24, in the 9300 block of Stanford Avenue in Green Meadows, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

About 2:45 a.m., Kennedy was leaving a house party with a group of people when they got into a confrontation with another group, said LAPD Det. Nate Kouri. The group Kennedy was with ran away, then Kennedy was stabbed, Kouri said.

Kennedy was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:23 a.m., according to coroner’s records.

Police are unsure what the altercation was about but said it is not related to gang activity.
