Marvin Sanchez, 30

Marvin Sanchez, 30, a Latino man, was allegedly shot to death by a store clerk during an attempted robbery about 2:30 p.m. in Pacoima on Saturday, April 26.

According to police, Sanchez walked into the Del Gaudio mini market at 10567 San Fernando Road, pulled out a handgun and demanded money. Police said the clerk shot him, and paramedics later found him dead on the sidewalk.

A long time ago my dad was in and out of jail. I never really saw him. He walked the walk and talked the talk. He wasn't a very good role model. I'm not sure but I doubt it very much if you have ever been to a prison for a visit...it isn't some place that I would want my child to go to even if it was to visit me. The place is awful even just going for a visit isn't fun. I know you are hurting...this was your dad after all but please try to understand as much as it hurts as angry as you are one day you will wake up and you will be at a crossroads in your life the road that will take you down one of two streets the right one will keep you alive and living a very nice life and the other will paint a big target right on your back. You will be a target of both the police and other people that commit crimes on others just because they can. That's the wrong road...even if you get out of your teen years and are well into adult hood that target that you painted on yourself doesn't leave. You can leave all your crimes behind you and try to live a good life starting from day one and your past comes up to haunt you. Please remember this sweety...you never want to end up where your dad did...you never want to give society or any one person the ability to take away your life. Do good in school be the best you can be. Don't ever give yourself the one option of just picking up a gun and going into a store to take something that doesn't belong to you and never will. I know at times getting the education you will need will seem too difficult but if you stay on the right road you will get the best life that right now you can't even imagine. Your education is the only way out of the life that you are experincing right now. I hope that you will not lose anyone in your young life again but only you will know the chances of that happing since only you know your family. You will be in my prayers and I will ask God to keep you safe and happy. Now be a loving daughter and live your life baby not for your dad or your mom but for you.
