Since you now work in law enforcement why not look into this case on your own? I did for a dear friend several years ago. I took my law enforment badge walked myself into the department that origianally had the case and did the investigation on my own. There were no witnesses to the shooting I investigated so the case went no where but at the very least I had some sence of closure on the case. I now know that the department that had the case originally did what they could with the information that they had. Make yourself feel better look into it on your own. Sure you detective skills might be elementary but you might be able to get some help from someone in your detective squad. There is nothing keep you from looking into it and sloving what might be classified as an unsolvable case. Who knows this might be the case you solve that turns out to be the biggest in your career.

My name is Crystal Rubio, a friend of Maximo Ramirez family. You could say I was Maximo's teen love. He was an amazing young man with so much potential. I am sadden by the police department that handled this case because I have so much heart and faith in law enforcement. I believe in justice and it is sad that Maximo was never given the fight he deserved to catch his killer. Police saw it as a young man who lived in a bad neighborhood so for that reason his murder must have been gang related. Im sure to them its just another unsolved gang murder in their books. No one deserves to be shot in front of their own home. He was a hard worker who helped his mother clean businesses to make ends meet. He always had a smile that could melt your heart and always stated how happy he was. The day he lost his life I will never forget! I was suppose to go see him that week since I lived 250 miles away. Instead of receiving his usual phone call, I received a call stating he was shot and that he asked for me. I got on the road and drove to Los Angeles to find him in a coma on life support. I prayed for me to be able to see him smile again, something we take for granted. But I was to late, he let go of the fight. I work for law enforcement in a different county, I just wish someone in the Los Angeles county would help bring justice to Maximo's family and friends. He was only 16 years old and his life was taken away from him to young by worthless murders who feel if they kill in Los Angeles most likely the investigation will not be deep unless it's someone who is known. Till this day I pray someone in the Los Angeles Police department will look into his case and take a murderer off the streets of Compton. It has been six years since his pass and his smile remains in my memory... Thank you for your time.
