Michael Allen White, a 30-year-old black man, was shot and killed Sunday, Aug. 31, in the 5400 block of South Western Avenue in Vermont Square, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Shortly before 2:45 a.m., White was standing in the back parking area of an apartment complex with other people when at least two black men walked up to him and one person fired multiple gunshots, said LAPD Det. Sal LaBarbera.

The men ran away, LaBarbera said. White was pronounced dead at 2:55 a.m. at the scene, said Ed Winter, the assistant chief of investigations for the coroner’s office.

I was friends with Michael since elementary school we lived around the corner from each other as kids he was my first love as we got older we went different ways but meet back up n 2000/2001 he lived with me and my family for a few months and we all loved him to death we had some funny moments but the stars weren't in our favor we went our separate ways again. Now to find out that he is gone and in this way it is so sad my condolences to his grandmother and daughter even though I haven't seen him in years I wouldn't have lived with myself knowing about this tragedy and not pay my respect, , my older brother MICHAEL TAYLOR RIP was good friends with Michael White and some low life gunned him down on April 22 2006 in that same area Gage and Western at the primo burger so I understand and know how it feels ,, my hope is that the Michaels meet up and turn up n that after life ,,, WHEN WILL THIS MADNESS EVER STOP

My heart is breaking that Michael won't be able to brighten my life with his energy, love, laughter, handsome fly guy ways that made me blush. I always loved his dimples when he'd smile. I thank you Lord for bringing Michael in my life. He tough me so much. I regret so much time I wasted with little fights that couples have. Michael and I had genuine love and interest since the first day we met. There's a lot of good memories and great times and plenty of laughs. I'll always remember and never forget. Since that Sunday I really can't even think straight anymore. I feel robbed and violated of our family's future. Apart of me died with Michael that night. I felt helpless as I watched Mike fall to the ground and continuously being shot by some perpetrating cowards. When your around losers and your setting and achieving goals. Those same losers are watching and hating. Back stabbers, they smile in your face all the time they want to take your place, back stabbers. That apartment need to be destroyed. That place is a danger to the community. It contributes to the gang activity, prostitution, drug use and dealing, guns, robberies, murder, and God knows what else is going on inside that place. I'm never going to be okay especially with those animals walking the streets thinking they got away with Michael murder. Those parasites need to be punished for taking his life! This pain is killing me. I'm outraged by the way Michael was gunned down in a place where people portrayed that everyone was cool with him. These so called homies are armed, no one fired a single shot in a effort to run off or prevent them cowards from killing Michael. Instead a so called homie that was at the complex gets in our car and drives off. I felt helpless as I'm watching my love of my life dying. This situation hurts, I wanted to die with him that horrible unforgettable devastating night. I that The Lord keeps me strong everyday. Only cowards gun down a unarmed man. These animals don't deserve to walk among society they're just going to do it again to someone else. I pray they burn for all eternity in hell with the rest of the demons. All I can do Is pray for justice because it happen. Either they'll be arrested charged and put away. The Lord will see to it those cowards get everything they deserve. Or it will be street justice. What's done in the dark always comes to the light. I wish heaven had a telephone so I would hear Michael voice again. Things will never be the same. I'm in a living nightmare.

I think about Michael everyday all day. It's insane how disrespectful animals are in the world are today. I can't except this it makes me furious that some slim balls took Michaels life with in minutes. They have no respect for life or others. Michael would want me to be strong and remember him. He had a promising future. I'll always remember all the laughs, smiles, and long nights of him rapping/ talking my ear off, lol. It hurts that a real soldier like him was taken away by some low life cowards. Michael looked forward to seeing his 7year old daughter grow up, and being a better man and role model. Unfortunely all that has been taken away from us on 08/31/2014. I pray for his little girl everyday. Michael always kept himself humble.
