Michael Anthony Meza, a 32-year-old Latino, was found shot to death Wednesday, Jan. 9, on the shoulder of an offramp of the 10 Freeway near Pomona, according to authorities.
The freeway was closed for more than eight hours after the California Highway Patrol found Meza shot to death beside his car.
Authorities told KTLA-TV (Channel 5) that officers noticed a white car on the shoulder of the eastbound White Avenue offramp about 12:30 a.m.
The rear window on the driver’s side was shattered, and it was unclear when the car was targeted, police told KTLA. Meza had been shot in the upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene.
