Michael Rios, a 44-year-old Latino, was fatally shot Thursday, Aug. 15, in the 11500 block of Angell Street in Norwalk, according to the L.A. County coroner’s office.
Shortly before 1 a.m., several gunshots were heard in the area, said Lt. Eddie Hernandez of the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department homicide bureau.
Deputies found Rios in the back of his driveway with gunshot wounds, Hernandez said.
Rios was taken to a hospital in Lynwood, where he died at 1:37 a.m., said coroner’s spokesman Ed Winter.
An autopsy is pending, he said.
Hernandez said detectives were seeking witnesses to the shooting.
