Michael Samuel Kelly, 18

Michael Samuel Kelly, an 18-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Friday, Feb. 15, in the 12800 block of Van Nuys Boulevard in Pacoima, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s records.

About 8 p.m., officers from the Los Angeles Police Department responded to a call of a shooting, according to a news release from the department.

Officers arrived and found Kelly on the ground in a parking lot. Another man had also been wounded.

Kelly was pronounced dead at the scene at 8 p.m., according to coroner’s records.

The other man was taken to a hospital where he was treated and released.

Police said the shooting occurred when Kelly and the other man were walking on a sidewalk next to a strip mall. A gunman fired at the two, possibly from the window of a black sedan, police said.
