Mitchell Graves, 54

Mitchell Graves, a 54-year-old black man, was shot to death Tuesday, Aug. 6, in the 6200 block of Madden Avenue in Hyde Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Graves was walking along the sidewalk at 10:45 p.m. when two men walked up to him, L.A. Police Det. Supervisor Sal LaBarbera said.

One of the men shot Graves numerous times, then fled to a light-colored vehicle parked on the corner of West 62nd Street and Madden, LaBarbera said.

Graves died at the scene at 11:11 p.m., according to coroner’s spokesman Ed Winter.
