A story for every victim

Nye Daniels, 22

Nye Daniels, a 22-year-old black man, was shot multiple times inside his home in the 9900 block of South Graham Avenue in South Los Angeles about 4:10 a.m. Wednesday, April 16. A friend of Daniels' was in the house but was not injured in the shooting, authorities said.

According to police, at least one assailant forced entry through the front door, walked to a back bedroom and fired multiple rounds. Daniels was mortally wounded. The assailants then fled the scene, but it was unknown whether by foot or in a car.

Daniels was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said. Daniels was a documented Grape Street gang member, said LAPD spokesman Richard French.

Anyone with information is asked to call South Bureau Det. Sal LaBarbera at (213) 485-4341.
