Orlando L. Ashley, 25

Orlando L. Ashley, a 25-year-old black man, was fatally shot Sunday, July 24, in the 4000 block of Stevely Avenue in Baldwin Hills, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Ashley and his brother, Olajuwon Pierre Ashley, 25, were standing in front of their apartment complex at about 11:30 p.m. when they were shot, said Los Angeles Police Det. Rick Gordon.

It’s unclear so far how many people were involved in the shooting, but police believe the gunman or gunmen fled in a vehicle. There’s no indication that the brothers were gang members, Gordon said.

Both of the men were pronounced dead at the scene, according to coroner’s records.
