Osmin Wilfredo Campos Serna, 21

Osmin Wilfredo Campos Serna, a 21-year-old Latino, was fatally stabbed Friday, April 25 in the 4000 block of South Vermont Avenue in Vermont Square, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Campos Serna was walking out of a liquor store about 9 p.m. when he was confronted by two to five Latinos between the ages of 15 and 20 years old, said Los Angeles police Det. Sal LaBarbera.

One of the attackers grabbed Campos Serna’s skateboard and hit him several times, LaBarbera said.

Campos Serna was then stabbed by one of the attackers in the upper torso. The attackers then ran north on South Vermont Avenue.

Campos Serna was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 9:25 p.m., according to coroner’s records.
