Ozell Gentry, 34

Ozell Gentry, a 34-year-old black man, died Sunday, April 29, a day after he was shot in the 1100 block of Chester Avenue in Compton, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Gentry was shot several times on April 28 and was taken to a hospital for treatment, said Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office.

Despite medical intervention, the victim died from his injuries at midnight.

Winter had no other information about the case.
