Pablo Delacruz, 34

Pablo Delacruz, a 34-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Friday, Jan. 27, in the 9600 block of Compton Avenue in Watts, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Shortly before 5 p.m., Delacruz was in a beige Toyota Highlander driving east on East 96th Street when he stopped at a light at Compton Avenue, said Los Angeles Police Det. Nathan Kouri.

A vehicle described as a black compact car going in the opposite direction stopped, a person got out, walked up to the driver’s side door and began shooting at Delacruz, Kouri said.

Delacruz was pronounced dead at the scene.
