Past case: South Gate man sentenced for 2003 murder

A South Gate man was sentenced Oct. 26, 2004, to state prison for the September 2003 killing of Marc Alan Antenorcruz, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.

Pete Marron, 20, was sentenced to 50 years to life in prison for the shooting death of Antenorcruz.

On Aug. 16,  2004, after deliberating less than a day, a jury convicted Marron of first-degree murder.

Antenorcruz, 25, was shot and killed Sept. 19, 2003, in a parking lot at Dodger Stadium in Elysian Park.

After a game between the San Francisco Giants and the Dodgers, Antenorcruz got into a dispute with a group of men that included Marron and his companion Manuel Hernandez. Marron pulled a gun from a truck, fired twice and then fled the scene.

Antenorcruz was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 10:36 p.m.

Hernandez, 34, was sentenced Aug. 9, 2004, to five years' probation after he pleaded no contest to voluntary manslaughter in the shooting death of Antenorcruz.
